Requests and approvals
Requests and approvals that end in recorded custody.
Anyone can ask for a laptop, a phone or a licence. Approvals follow your policy, and issuing the request records custody on its own.

Why it matters
A request should end in a handover, not a ticket.
Requests that live in email or a helpdesk get approved, then forgotten, and the laptop that arrives is never written down. In the Register a request moves from asked to approved to issued, and the handover lands on the Asset's custody chain.
Anyone can ask
People without an account request through their own link; Members can also ask on someone's behalf.
Your approval policy
Choose who needs approval and up to two ordered steps, by named Members or by role.
Issued means recorded
Issuing from a request writes custody automatically, with the request named on the chain.
How it works
Asked, approved, issued.
Someone asks
A request lists what is needed: a category and how many, such as one laptop and one monitor.
It is approved
Requests for People without an account, or from gated Members, pass your policy's steps. A declined request records why.
It is issued
Issue each unit from the request. Custody is recorded and the request shows its progress line by line.
People request through their own link.
Every Person can get a personal link to ask for kit, follow their own requests and confirm a handover, without an account.
Approvals
Approvals that follow your rules.
Flag the Members whose requests need approval, then set one or two steps. Who may approve is checked at every decision, and the policy is frozen onto each request.
Questions about requests
Do people need an account to request something?
No. A Person can use their personal Request Link. Opening it asks for a one-time code sent by email.
Can a Member request on someone else's behalf?
Yes, for example at the IT desk. A note is required, and the person the request is for is emailed.
How many approval steps can we set?
One or two ordered steps, each by named Members or by a role. Zero steps is also valid: a gated request is then approved on arrival, with the reason recorded.
Is this a helpdesk?
No. A request in the Register ends in recorded custody, not in a ticket. Your helpdesk keeps the tickets; the Register keeps the estate.
